BODILY: A Brand for Birth Recovery

There has been a shift in recent years to a focus on postpartum recovery. A huge driving force in this change is the growing number of companies that focus on postpartum wellness. Bodily is an amazing new company that aims to make new moms aware of the less well-known changes women go through after childbirth. As the company’s website states, “…the things that no one talks about are the ones that need the most attention.”

Bodily was founded by Tovah Haim, who felt a need for greater awareness surrounding postpartum recovery after the birth of her own child in 2017. Like many women, Tovah was shocked at some of the taboos surrounding the postpartum recovery period, so she decided to shift her career path to focus on creating a product that encouraged women to take control of their health. She partnered with a team of health professionals, including certified nurse midwives, to create the Bodily line.

Bodily products cover the whole spectrum of postpartum care, starting with the new mom’s most immediate needs. From peri bottles, to mesh undies, to sitz salts, you’ll find everything you need to care for your body in the first days after giving birth. Bodily offers a recovery kit for vaginal delivery called the V-Kit, which includes peri spray, mesh undies, giant maxi pads, stool softener, sitz salts and a sitz bath, and step-by-step guidebooks. Bodily also has a kit for cesarean recovery called the C-Kit, which provides  mesh undies, giant maxi pads, stool softener, a belly band, high-rise undies, and recovery guidebooks.

The hallmark of Bodily’s offerings, though, is the Care for Birth Box. Not only does this kit contain everything you need for immediate recovery, but it also provides products to help with breastfeeding, including two nipple creams, breast pads, a nipple shield, and cooling gel pads. You’ll also receive cozy socks, an inflatable toilet cushion, and nourishing oatmeal to promote breastmilk production. Bodily has truly covered all the basics!

Studies have consistently shown that women who are given time to rest, recover, and nourish themselves after delivery are less likely to experience adverse physical and mental postpartum symptoms. Bodily’s products will take you one step closer to getting the nourishment, rest, and support you need after giving birth. I wish this company had been around when my oldest was born twelve years ago!
